Professional Academic Background:

Bachelor of Architecture, University of Cape Town, South Africa, 1975.
Certificate in Development Planning, University College London, UK, 1978.
Master of Architecture, University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, 1980.

 

Professional Experience:

1992 to present : Independent office providing building design, urban and regional
planning, project management and site supervision services. Projects include tourism plans and consulting, hi-tech industry, manufacturing industry, housing, urban renewal, agricultural facilities and infrastructure development.
1985-1991: Responsible for planning, development, maintenance and municipal
services for the communal village, Yodfat: agriculture, industry and tourism. This
activity included the provision of external planning and consulting services.
1980-1985: City of Haifa Planning Department : project leader of a planning team
responsible for several major urban revitalization projects.
1975-1979: National Building Research Institute, South Africa: pilot and demonstration projects dealing with urbanization, squatter settlement upgrading, appropriate technology and development planning.

The office is certified for quality management by the Israeli Standards Institute according to the international standards: ISO 9001 / IQNet.

Public Sector: Israel Lands' Administration, Israel Government Tourism Development Company, Nature Reserves and National Parks Authority, The Jewish Agency, Local Building and Planning Committees, Regional and Local Municipal Authorities.

Specialty:

Integrated, multi-disciplinary development planning incorporating an holistic approach that emphasizes public participation in the planning processes and environmental awareness that promotes sustainable development.

 

Some Current Projects:

Regional development plan in the Upper Galilee including ecotourism and sustainable economic development incorporating protection and maintenance of natural resources and assets.
Environmentally oriented resort complex in the Western Galilee.
Expansion of the Master Plan for the City of Sachnin ( population 25000 - 90% Moslem, 10% Christian) incorporating intensive public participation in the planning process.
